Organic Akarkara | Pellitory Root | 100% Pure

Pellitory roots, also known as Anacyclus pyrethrum or Spanish chamomile, are believed to have originated from Arab because ancient Indian texts like Charak, Sushrut, and Vagbhatt do not mention them, suggesting that Unani Hakims (herbal doctors) might have introduced them to India. Today, pellitory root is considered a popular herb in both India and Arab and is cultivated in some regions of India. The small shoots of the plant emerge with the onset of the rainy season. The root has a pungent taste, and chewing it produces a hot and burning sensation on the tongue. The quality of the root found in Arab is considered superior.

The medicinal uses of pellitory roots include:

  1. Headache: Applying a paste of ground roots on the forehead can help relieve a headache. Chewing the root leads to increased saliva secretion, providing relief from toothaches.

  2. Epilepsy: Grinding the root in vinegar, adding honey, and consuming 5 to 10 mg of this mixture helps control epilepsy attacks. Combining it with Brahmi quash can be beneficial for fits.

  3. Stammering: A mixture of root powder, black pepper, and honey can be rubbed on the tongue to alleviate dryness and cure stammering over a 4 to 6-week period.

  4. Toothache: Using a powder made from equal parts of pellitory roots and camphor for brushing the teeth helps with all types of toothaches. Gargling with the root's quashing can also relieve toothaches and strengthen loose teeth.

  5. Throat Problems: Gargling with water infused with pellitory roots is beneficial for tongue, teeth, and throat issues.

  6. Bad Odor: A powder made from pellitory roots, Nagarmotha, roasted plum, black pepper, and rock salt can be used for daily teeth brushing to cure dental problems and bad breath.

  7. Heart Disease: Consuming a mixture of Arjun chhal and pellitory root powder helps alleviate anxiety, palpitations, pain, weakness, and shivering. Boiling Kullajan, South, and Akarkara (pellitory root) in water and reducing it to one-fourth quantity is beneficial for heart diseases.

  8. Hiccups: Licking one gram of pellitory root powder with honey can provide instant relief from hiccups.

  9. Fever: Massaging the body with pellitory root powder cooked in olive oil promotes perspiration and lowers body temperature. Combining Chirayata drops with this powder is useful for chronic fever.

  10. Respiration: Inhaling the aroma of pellitory roots can help alleviate respiratory blockages..

  11. Acidity and Loss of Digestive Fire: Consuming a mixture of Shunthi powder and Akarkara (pellitory root) can aid in acidity and loss of digestive fire.

  12. Sciatica: Massaging the affected area with pellitory root powder mixed in walnut oil can provide relief from sciatica pain.

  13. Wounds: Preparing a quashing with Ushva and pellitory root and taking it in case of wounds is beneficial. Making a paste of pellitory root powder and mustard powder with honey and applying it to the tongue can help with partial body pain.
